PCMCIA merupakan Personal Computer Memory Cards International Asociation yang merupakan kelompok produsen hardware dan vendor yang bertanggung jawab untuk mengembangkan standar untuk kartu PC (juga disebut kartu PCMCIA.
2. AFLT singkatan dari Advance Forward Link  Trilateration. Tidak seperti A-GPS, AFLT tidak menggunakan satelit GPS untuk menentukan lokasi. Untuk menentukan lokasi, ponsel membutuhkan pengukuran sinyal dari BTS terdekat dan melaporkan jarak pembacaan ke jaringan, yang kemudian digunakan untuk melakukan pelacakan lokasi perkiraan ponsel.
3. 1xEV-DO yaitu bagian keluarga CDMA2000 1x untuk standar nirkabel digital. 1xEV-DO adalah CDMA standar berbasis 3G. EV-DO menyediakan kecepatan data 10 kali lebih cepat dari 1xRTT, teknologi data sebelumnya untuk jaringan CDMA.
4. BPP atau Basic Printing Profile. Profile Bluetooth (mode) untuk mencetak langsung dari perangkat mobile ke printer bluetooth. Hal ini dilakukan tanpa perlu driver khusus pada perangkat mobile. Contoh tipe data yang didukung termasuk teks, e-mail, informasi kontak, dan gambar. Namun tidak semua ponsel ber-bluetooth mempunyai dukungan BPP.
5. 1xRTT, merupakan keluarga CDMA2000 1x standar nirkabel digital yang dirancang untuk mengganti CDMA standar IS-95. 1xRTT kadang-kadang disebut sebagai standar "2.5G".
6. CDG yaitu CDMA Development Group. Sebuah perusahaan konsorsium internasional yang bekerja untuk mengadopsi dan mengevolusi sistem CDMA nirkabel di seluruh dunia.
7. ZIP. Extensi/sambungan pada nama file yang mengindikasikan bahwa file tersebut sudah dikompres oleh program PKZIP.
